Colour Groups for Guys
byColour plays a really important part in the way we look and whilst we are all aware that some colours look better on us than others, it is difficult to apply this consistently without understanding the ‘science’.
We don’t want to look too bland whilst at the same time often avoid the brighter colours of our youth for fear of standing out. Choosing the right colours is as important as the outfit itself and selecting tones that work in harmony with your hair, eyes and skin will allow you to look your best, whatever the occasion.
Colour Groups is something new to many of us and can seem a little daunting at first which is why we asked resident GenX stylist, Brad Simpson, to compile this easy to follow guide. Brad’s Colour Group infographic indicates the colours that work in harmony with you whilst highlighting those that are best avoided. Accessories and eyewear can also help enhance an outfit and it is important that these match your colour; luckily Brad’s got this covered too!
The guide is not designed to be followed slavishly and style is as much about the way you feel as it is the clothes you wear. Sometimes though you will want to look your best and wearing clothes and accessories that belong to your Colour Group will ensure that everything co-ordinates and takes the guesswork out of looking good.
